North governors condemn the killing of travelers

The Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF) condemned the horrible murder of travelers from northern Nigeria in the Efandion community of Udune di Uromi, Edo.

The president of the forum, the governor Inuwa Yahaya, described the attack as a “serious violation of human rights” in a declaration issued by his media helper, Mr. Ismaila Uba-Misilli.

Yahaya, who is the governor of Gombe, said that extrajudicial violence was unacceptable and must be unequivocally condemned with the utmost severity.

“The Northern Governors Forum expresses its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and all the people affected by this tragic event.

“We are deeply disturbed by the loss of innocent lives and the horrible way in which these individuals have been attacked.

“This frightening act undermines the state of law and the very fabric of our society,” he said.

The governor urged the authorities interested in conducting a complete and in -depth investigation on “this senseless act”.

He stressed that the authors must be identified, arrested and quickly brought to justice.

Yahaya said that all Nigerians, regardless of the region, should be able to travel freely and safely without fear of harassment, violence or intimidation

He invited the government and the police to take quick actions to prevent these accidents, also appealing to calm.
