The norwegian crown daughter has been charged with rape and domestic violence, among other crimes, a prosecutor said.
Marius Borg Hoiby, the eldest son of the crown of Mette-Marit’s women, was able to face 10 years in prison if found guilty of the most serious accusations, according to state lawyer Oslo Sturla Henriksboe.
32 Violations including one accusation of rape with sexual relations and three accusations of rape without intimate relations, some of which he filmed on his telephone, said the prosecutor.
The 28 -year -old player was also accused of making a threat of death, harassment in close relations against one former partner and acts of violence against another.
Hoiby denied the most serious accusations against him but planned to claim to be guilty of some lower accusations in court when the trial began, said his lawyer Petar Sekulic.
“He does not agree with claims about rape and domestic violence,” said Sekulic about his client.
The accusation came after a police investigation for a year, as part of which Hoiby was arrested in November 2024 and was detained for a week.
The trial can begin immediately after January and will take about six weeks, the prosecutor’s office told the NRK announcer. Hoiby is currently free of delayed trials.
“It’s up to the judges to decide whether he is guilty,” said prosecutor Sturla Henriksboe.
This statement was echoed by the royal palace, which said that it was up to the court to handle this case and achieve a decision, and there was nothing to be added outside of it.
