NSC cries the disappearance of the President of the Nra FMR Azeez
Abuja (Reporter Core) National Sports Commission (NSC) expressed deep pain at the death of Alhaji Tade Azeez.
Azeez was a veteran sports administrator-a former president of Nigeria Football Arbitration Association (Nra), long-standing vice-president of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) and president of the annual Valuejet Cup.
The president of the NSC, Mallam Shehu Dikko, said in this way “I am deeply saddened by the disappearance of Alhaji Tade Azeez, whose unshakable commitment for the referee and the development of football have advanced our game. Surely it will be missing from all those who knew him and we would do our best to continue fighting for greater sporting development, something that has always wanted.”
General manager of the NSC, Hon. Bukola Olopade greeted Azeez as a true icon of Nigerian referee and football development.
“It was a pillar of the football family”, Hon. Olopade said. “His integrity, passion and commitment have inspired a generation of referees and administrators. Azeez’s contributions to the progress of football in Nigeria will never be forgotten.”
Hon. Olopade extended the heartfelt condolences to the family, colleagues and the entire football community of Azeez.
“Nigeria has lost a great teacher and mentor,” Olopade observed, praying for the comfort for all those who sleep. The commission commensurate with Lagos Fa, the body of the referees and football fans in crying this loss and honoring the lasting legacy of Alhaji Azeez.
