Governor Dapo Inhabitun of the State of Ogun expressed profound pain after the death of 20 athletes from the State of Kano in a road accident while returning from the 22nd national sports festival hosted by his state

The unfortunate bus, which transmitted about 30 athletes, according to what was reported, crashed near the Dakatsalle bridge in the area of ​​the local government of Kura in the state of Kano, about 50 kilometers from the state capital, after the passage through Kaduna.

The accident caused 20 lives, throwing a shadow on what had been a celebratory sporting event.

In his reaction to Abeokuta on Saturday, the governor inhabedun described the accident as a heartbreaking and deeply distressing, saying that he was left completely traumatized by the news.

“These were vibrant young athletes, full of life and dreams, who had proudly represented Kano State at the Games Games 2024. They were returning to their loved ones with joy, just to ensure that their lives tragically have short just before reaching the house,” complained the governor.

He extended the heartfelt condolences to the government and the people of the State of Kano and prayed for the rest of the souls of the deceased.

“It is really sad and painful that 20 galant athletes who represented Kano at the National Sports Festival just ended in the most devastating circumstances. These grass stars had so much that they offer their talent and creativity to the country,” he said.

Inhabitun has also empathy with the families and friends of the deceased athletes, observing that their loss was not only personal, but national.

“In particular, it is tragic that their families, who had impatient their return impatience, will now have to live with the painful pain of their absence. Our prayers and thoughts are with them in this terrible hour,” he added.

He also commensurate with the Governor of the State of Kano, Abbir Kabir Yusuf, his cabinet, and the president of the State Sports Commission of Kano, Urar Bala Faggia, describing the loss like the one that shook the entire nation.
