Nuj FCT, China Cultural Center set on November 15th for the 7th Table Tennis Tournament
Abuja (basic reporter) The seventh tennis tennis tournament of the Nigeria -cina table, organized by the FCT Council of the Union of Journalists of Nigeria (Nuj) in collaboration with the Chinese Cultural Center in Nigeria, will take place on November 15, 2025.
This was announced when the Prime Minister Nuj FCT, Comrade Grace Ike brought a delegation to a courtesy visit to the China Cultural Center in Abuja recently. The delegation was warmly accepted by Mr. Yang Jianxing, director of the Center and Cultural Councilor at the Chinese Embassy, together with other senior staff members.
Comrade Ike expressed his gratitude for the longtime partnership between Nuj Fct and China Cultural Center. He underlined the importance of further cultural exchanges and asked for more opportunities for both countries to promote bilateral relationships for national development.

He said: “We are here to show appreciation for your continuous support and to further strengthen our collaboration. Over the years, we have shared so much in terms of cultural exchange programs, training opportunities and annual table tennis tournament”.
Ike also highlighted the participation of the China Cultural Center in other Nuj Fct events, such as football tournaments, and expressed the hope of the advice that this active partnership will continue.
However, he used the visit to formally invite Mr. Yang and his team to the next week of printing Nuj Fct, scheduled for the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja Tuesday 22 July 2025. “We would be honored to have you there as one of our key partners,” he said.
IKE has appealed for further opportunities to be created for cultural exchanges between the Chinese cultural center and the Nuj FCT.
In his answer, Mr. Yang Jianxing welcomed the Nuj Fct delegation and thanked them for the visit. It provided a brief overview of the China Cultural Center, which was established in 2013 and includes structures such as a multipurpose room, library and mandarin language lessons.
Yang shared that the center hosts various cultural events China -Nigeria every year. These include the Spring Festival, the International Women’s Day, the China Tea Day and the imminent China -Nigeria Cultural Festival, which will be held in collaboration with the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy of Nigeria.
He also spoke of the next performances by the end of the year, with traditional Chinese music, dance, Kung Fu and magical shows. He revealed that the seventh table tennis tournament would go on as expected in November and expressed hope for a strong participation and support Nuj FCT, as seen in previous years.
On the request for training opportunities in China, Yang has ensured the Nuj Fct that efforts would have been made to guarantee at least one or two points for their members. “I will do my best to talk to the embassy and see what can be organized,” he said.
He described Nigeria and China as “brothers and family members”, highlighting the strong and mutually advantageous bonds between the two nations. Yang also expressed appreciation for the role of the media in promoting understanding between the two cultures. “Through your work, people in China learn more about Nigeria and vice versa,” he said.
