A member of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Brown-Off Prosper (by/24B/2451), has taken the courage to return the dignity to public education in the state of Bayelsa by renovating four classes of class that is dilapidated in the elementary school of the Community, Swali, in the Yenagoa Regional Government.

The project, he revealed, was executed as part of his personal community development service (CDS), and was driven by a heartbreaking meeting when he visited the school.

During a visit to school, Brown witnessed students to study in the classrooms that were flooded and without roofs, soaking wet and struggled to protect their books. The scene, marked by open sky, damaged windows, and lost doors, leaving eternal impact on him.

Initially assigned to the Nigerian Police, the Bayelsa state command, Brown Ebubechukwu had planned an anti-cult campaign for its CDS project, however, the school’s condition changed its service year. He immediately acted, consult with school leadership and mobilize support from kind-hearted people to turn on the project.

This transformation is no less extraordinary. The classroom that was once ignored was completely overhauled, the new roof now protects students from hard weather, the PVC ceiling has been installed, along with nine doors and 24 windows, providing a complete facelift classroom. All blocks, including administrative offices, are repainted, provide a clean and enthusiastic learning environment.

Today, children who have studied in classrooms that are flooded are now studying in comfort and safety. What used to be forgotten space has been converted into flare hope, thanks to the compassion and commitment of members of the corps.
