The Governor of the State of Kogi, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has directed all the commissioners and the appointed high -level politicians in each area of ​​the local government to start the basic mobilization and the lighting on the recording exercise of the continuous voters in progress with immediate effect.

The directive according to the declaration issued by the Commissioner of the State of Kogi for information and communications, Kingsley Fanwo, also affects all government officials appointed under the current administration

The Commissioner said that the Directive, which has an effect from Monday 1 September 2025, was issued through a circular from the office of the secretary to the government of the state of Kogi, Dr. Folashade Ariike Ayoade

According to the circular, all the nominated of the government must participate in the exercise under the coordination of the highest appointed of each local government. All appointed should coordinate the efforts to mobilize the registration at the department level and present a global report at the end of the mobilization period, in detail the number of new voters recorded in their respective departments and advice of the local government.

The Governor stressed that the Era of Governance that is conducted exclusively by the state capital must give way to the direct commitment with the people at the base. He observed that government officials must remain accessible and sensitive to the needs of their communities.

The Directive also provides that any appointed that wishes to leave its LGA during this period must obtain upon approval written by the secretary to the state government or face disciplinary action.
