In a significant demonstration of legislative commitment, the Hon. AFOLABI AFUAPE, member of the Chamber of Representatives that represents the federal electoral college of the south of Abeokuta, has enhanced 854 components with N100,000 each, together with various Empowerment tools aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and acquisition of skills.
The event, held at the iconic Ake Palace in Abeokuta, marks another milestone in the efforts in progress to meet the needs of his people.
The strengthening initiative was one of the main highlights of the day, which saw numerous beneficiaries receive gifts in cash and professional tools, including motorcycles, sewing machines and dryers, to improve their sustenance.
This gesture is part of the largest mission of Afuape to stimulate economic growth and reduce unemployment in the electoral college.
At the beginning of the day, Afuape hosted a commitment from the parties concerned at the Ce Tenaty Hall in Abeokuta, where he had time to reflect on his legislative journey in the last year.
In a well -accepted speech, the legislator underlined the importance of his legislative contributions and detailed his results in the field of education, safety, power and enhancement of young people.
Hon. AFUAPE has made great strides to advance the well -being of its components through key legislative actions.
As part of his main responsibilities, the legislator said he has sponsored a series of invoices aimed at improving national governance and local development.
Among these are remarkable the bill of the National Agency for agricultural settlements, aimed at revitalizing the agricultural sector, and the bill on the modification of the police, who tries to improve the police in Nigeria.
Other legislative initiatives highlighted by Afuape include the bill on the amendment of the National Council for the arts and culture and the bill on the modification of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (Nahcon).
In addition, he has started movements to deal with issues such as the supply of stable electricity for consumers and the promotion of traditional fabric industries such as being and Kampala, as part of his cultural defense.
AFUAPE’s commitment to his electoral college extends beyond the legislation to the concrete interventions of the community.
During the year, he facilitated several infrastructure projects, in particular in the education sector.
The remarkable projects include the construction of the classrooms of St. John’s High School, Kuto and Methodist Primary School, Ogbe, together with the continuous renovation works of the Ijaye Community Primary School, Ghangba, Abekuta.

In addition, the legislator has installed solar energy lamps in strategic places, contributing to better safety in the area.
Afuape also underlined his legislative support for the creation of jobs, highlighting his role in facilitating job opportunities for the components within various agencies and government organizations.
The dedication of Afuape to enhance young people in his electoral college was evident in its distribution of subsidies and startup equipment to young entrepreneurs.
Through various training programs, including the installation of the solar panel and the donations of sewing machines, it has helped many young people to acquire marketable skills that authorize them to create their own activities.
By further strengthening his commitment for the creation of jobs, the legislator has provided rotating loans to merchants and craftsmen in collaboration with associations based on the community such as the Panseke Traders Association and the Itko-Kesi-Emere women’s group. Afuape also said that 50 people had been appointed legislative assistants, providing them with a precious work experience.
While the efforts of Afuapes have been praised, the event has also seen several interested parties that express concerns.
A participant appealed to the legislator to guided legislation to curb the growing issue of drug abuse in the electoral college, which has become a significant challenge, in particular among young people.
The request for an urgent intervention resounded with the participants, who urged Afuape to prioritize the laws that would have fought the increase in the problem of drug abuse.
Another participant has asked for the activation of agricultural settlements within the electoral college to help strengthen agricultural production and improve the means of existence of local farmers.
The participant highlighted the potential of these initiatives to create jobs and stimulate economic growth in South Abeokuta.
In response to these concerns, Afuape expressed his commitment to face the issues, noting that he would have explored all the roads to start legislative actions on both fronts.
He undertook to work towards the activation of agricultural settlements and underlined the importance of the laws to deal with the abuse of drugs and his related challenges.
He recognized the obstacles that remain but reassured his voters for his unshakable dedication to their well -being. The legislator invited the participants’ feedback, encouraging constructive criticisms to help perfect his efforts going on.
