One was killed, two injured in a lagos car accident

One person was killed and two others were injured in a car accident in the Ogolonto area in Ikorodu Road, Lagos, on Tuesday.

General Manager of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (Lastma), Bpk. Olarekan Bakare-Oki, confirmed this in a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs and Department of Enlightenment, Taofiq Adebayo.

He said: “The findings by security operators revealed that a truck with registration No. Eky 121 YJ and Commercial Mazda Bus filled with registration No. LND 490 SD collided while the bus competed for road rights along the big road from Agric Axis.

“In the terrible incident, a passenger, who sat at the Mazda bus door, was thrown from a vehicle and tragically destroyed under the rear tire of the truck, resulting in instant death.

“Two other passengers (a man and woman), issued with a severe injury, were immediately delivered by Lagos State Ambulance Service (Lasambus) to the Ikorodu General Hospital for urgent medical intervention.”

He added that the remnants of the deceased were then given to the family by police officers from the Owutu Division.

Lastma GM noted that the police operator further strengthened security protection for the Operation of Coordinated Rescue by Lastma.

“To restore vehicle movements without obstacles across the corridor, accident vehicles, commercial mazda buses, and articulated trucks were evacuated by Lastma officials,” he said.
