Opabunmi applauds the progress of Golden Eaglets before the Wafu B Cup

The former Super Eagles, Femi Opabunmi, has expressed his delight for the constant progress of the U17 MNT of Nigeria, the Golden Eaglets.

The team is intensifying the preparations for the next WAFU B U-17 Cup, scheduled to be held at Ivory Coast next month.

The team became a 4-0 victory over the Fanz Harcourt academy based in Port Harcourt, continuing its impressive accumulation under chief coach Manu Garba.

Speaking to Brila.net after the meeting, Opabunmi praised the general quality of the team, but urged them to improve decision making in the last third.

“I can see that they are doing everything possible,” he said. “The attack force is there, but the end is still a bit poor. The coach has experience and I know he will work on that.”

“The boys are very good in all the department. I like the way in which the number 7 and the number 11 move the ball, and the shirt number 10 impressed me with the composure in the midfield. The last touch is always the problem, but in general, they are playing very well.”

The Golden Eaglets, five times U-17 World Cup champions of the FIFA, will continue their series of test matches with another departure on Friday as part of their intensive preparations.

Nigeria will be aimed at improving his third place in the last Wafu B U-17 championship while preparing for the 2025 edition, scheduled for September.
