Order of the Court for the final confiscation of N246m shares linked to the former Nigeria Army Properties MD – Thage

Judge Dehinde Dipeolu of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, Tuesday, ordered the final decline of different units of actions assessed at N246.305.544m linked to a former CEO of the Nigerian Army Limited Army, Napl, greater general of Umammetta (Rice.)

The judge gave the order, following a motion on notice presented by the Lagos 1 Zonal Directorate of the Commission for economic and financial crimes, EFCC, through his lawyer, Hu Kofornisa.

Judge Chukwujekwu Aneke had previously ordered the provisional decline of the shares and the publication of the same in a national newspaper so that the interested parties show so that the properties should not finally be renounced in the federal government.

By moving the application for the final forfeiture, KoFarnaisa told the Court that the application was supported by a security declaration made by Nwike Fortune, an investigative official of the FCC.

In the sworn declaration, Nwike declared that he had investigated a petition from the Napl “as regards the monumental fraud perpetrated by General Um Mohammed (RETD), Mr. Yusuf Abddullahi Abubakar and Mr. Kayode Oladipupo Filani”, adding that “Investigation revealed that Mohammed, while the director of Napl was needed between 2015 and the 2015 and the 2015 20120. Device the proceeds for personal use.

“In an attempt to hide the proceeds of illegal activities, he acquired actions in Awhua Resources Limited using indebted funds.

“Some of the actions include: National Aviation Handling Company (N115.567.906); Ondando Plc (N2.000.000); Sugar refinery of Dangote (N1.000.000); Vitafoam Nigeria Plc (N81.901.651) and University Press (N40.155.291).”

Kofornisa, later, claimed that “it is in the interest of justice finally renounce the aforementioned actions contained in times A, B and C of this question, since they have been acquired with funds that are reasonably suspected of being processes of illegal activities”.

The judge Dipeolu, in his sentence, believed that the topic had merit and ordered the final decline of the actions to the federal government of Nigeria.
