The Democratic People’s Party (PDP) has decided to appeal to the election of the Edo State Governor Edo Petition the court regarding last year’s governor election in the state.
The three member panel led by Judge Wilfred KPochi on Wednesday confirmed that the Governor of Monday Okpebholo in the September 21 elections in the state.
The court rejected the petition submitted by the PDP and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo, due to lack of achievement.
The KPochi judge, who submitted the main decision, stated that the applicants failed to summon competent witnesses to prove the accusations of non-compliance with the Election Law.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, the Secretary of the PDP National Publicity, Debo Oologunagba, described the judgment of the court as a miscarriage of justice.

He said the PDP national leadership, after a comprehensive review of the decision, concluded that the decision was a betrayal of the trust invested by Nigerians, Edo people, had invested in court.
He said that with the avalanche of the evidence presented to the court, it was clear that the PDP candidate won the election, after scoring the highest valid number of votes given in training.
The spokesman said: “However, consistent with the PDP belief recognized in the judicial capacity for, in the right case, ensuring that justice is carried out, our party and candidate, Ighodalo, are continuing to the appeal court.
“We believe that there will be a careful judicial review of this issue to provide justice to people in the state of Edo.”
Oologunagba urged the people of the state to remain firm and not allow court decisions to reduce their trust in the judiciary and democracy in Nigeria.
