Pengassan immediately directs the arrest of the gas supply to the refinery of dance, orders closed to the oil supply valves – Thage

By Victor Osula, Abuja

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (Pengassan) has ordered its members to stop the gas supply and immediately close all the crude oil supply valves to the oil oil refinery.

A letter signed by the Secretary General of the Union, Lumumba Okugbawa, has accused the management of the refinery of interrupting the use of 800 workers who are members of the association.

While Pengassan previously said that over 2,000 Indian citizens have been recruited by the company to hire the work of those who were fired from Dangote on Thursday, the refinery in a declaration of Friday, denied the request.

The company said that he was carrying out a reorganization of his workforce to safeguard the refinery from repeated deeds of sabotage. Noting that over 3,000 Nigerians continue to actively work in the refinery, the company restores the commitment to support the principles of work accepted internationally, including the right of each worker to freely decide whether or not to adhere to a union.

However, insisting on the fact that the workers were dismissed for joining the union, Pengassan directed all his members, in particular those of the Nigerian Gas Branch Infractcture Company (NGIC), to immediately stop the supply of gas to the refinery from Multimiliardari. He also directed an immediate closure of all the raw oil power valves to the refinery, as well as the suspension of loading operations for ships intended for the structure.

The letter reads: “We bring you fraternal greetings from the National Secretariat. As you know, the management of the oil refinery of crane has disengaged our members in reaction to the exercise of their constitutional right to be unionized.

“They went beyond in a mission of disinformation and propaganda to justify this illegitimacy rather than to commit itself significantly with us to correct evil.

“As a result, you ordered to immediately cut the supply of gas to Ngic.

“President of Ngic, make sure that the refinery gas supply is cut immediately.

“All the presidents of this convocation must promptly report the progress of the directive.

“He kindly accepts the insurance of our maximum esteem.

“Injury to one, injury to everyone.”
