Jose Peseiro has expressed his displeasure with the performance of the Super Eagles despite a 3-2 win against 10-man Mozambique in Portugal on Monday, Completesports.com reports.
The Eagles came from a goal down to beat Mozambique thanks to goals from Terem Moffi, Frank Onyeka and Moses Simon.
Mozambique played most part of the game with 10 men after one of their player was sent off in the first half.
Despite having a player sent off, Mozambique still manage to pull a goal back to make it 3-2.
The Eagles came into Monday’s game on the back of a 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia on Friday.
Speaking after the game, Peseiro questioned his players concentration level, passing and inability to convert their scoring chances.
“First of all I’m happy because after 15 friendly matches the Super Eagles eventually won a game, it’s good,” Peseiro said on NFF TV.
“Looking at the game especially the second half I didn’t like the performance, I expected more concentration. Our team is better than Mozambique, we needed to concentrate on finishing, good passing.

“My players felt at 3-1 and against 10 everything is done, I didn’t like that. There were many opportunities, we saw players go one on one win the keeper and didn’t score so I’m not happy.
“I prefer the match against Saudi Arabia because they put in much concentration but today’s game I didn’t like it.
“My players had the chance to score up to eight goals because they created many opportunities. There was no good crosses, no good finishing, nothing came out of our corner kicks.
“I’m happy because we won but my players need to understand that I’m not happy.“
Peseiro and his players will be back in action in November for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
