Police arrest 2 officers over the death of a man in Lagos

Two officers attached to the Lagos State police command have been arrested over the death of a man in the state.

The command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

He said the two officers were members of a state task force that carried out an illegal operation alongside several civilians on Wednesday.

Hundeyin added that the team came under attack from motorbike riders, which resulted in the death of one of the civilians.

He said: “While disciplinary action has been initiated against the detained police officers, the search for their civilian accomplices is still underway.

“An investigation has been initiated to identify, arrest and prosecute the perpetrators of this dastardly act.”
