Police arrest 8 suspicions for killing, buried the child at the Maiduguri hospital

The police command in Borno arrested eight suspicions for alleged murder and secretly burying a newborn child in a hospital in Kwatam in Baga Road, Maiduguri.

The head of the Public Relations of the Command Police (PPRO), Nahun Daso, revealed him in an interview with our correspondent to Maiduguri on Saturday.

Daso said that the accident occurred on April 18, 2025, around 13:00, following a rescue call received by the police by the residents concerned who witnessed the suspicion.

He explained that the police officers of the ITE division responded quickly, isolated from the hospital premises and arrested suspicions on the scene.

According to him, the forensic experts were lined up in the child’s position and body was resurrected for the exam.

He said the suspicions were transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigations (Scid) for further investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The PPRO has urged the members of the public to continue to provide timely and credible information in support of police efforts in guaranteeing public security.
