Police arrest you are armed robbery, suspicious kidnapping and armed shepherd in Nasarawa
Doma (Core reporter) The Nasarawa State Police Command reported the arrest of six suspicions linked to the armed robbery and kidnapping in the area of the local government of Doma, as well as the arrest of an armed shepherd in Keana to increase his ongoing struggle against violent crime,
The basic journalists report that the police acted on the credible intelligence by a patriotic citizen and agents of the Doma division, led by the Division Police Officer, has started and broke into a well -known criminal hiding place in Yelwa Ediya. The operation led to the arrest of the following suspicions: Darda’u Shehu (M), Yunusa Malami Hashimu (M), Musa Abubakar (M), Ibrahim Musa (M) and Mohammed Musa.
However, during the interrogation, the suspicions confessed to the kidnapping of May 26, 2025 of a service director (retained name), during which they stole two cell phones: an Infinix 30 note assessed at ₦ 250,000 and a techno manual assessed at ₦ 20,000.
They also admitted to having mounted a road block along the Doma -yelwa road on July 19, 2025 around 9:00 am, where they attacked Ibrahim Haruna (M) by Yelwa Ediya and torn his bajaj motorcycle of value at ₦ 970,000. The stolen motorcycle was sold through one of the suspicions, Ibrahim Musa, who contacted a buyer.
During the operation, the officers recovered ₦ 100,000 – proceeds from the sale of the motorcycle – which had been buried in the bush, together with a Bajaj motorcycle.
In a related development, around 12:30 on 10 August 2025, the agents of the Keana division responded to a rescue call on the shepherds who graze on agricultural land in Gidan Zaki Hassan, Kuduku, Keana LGA. In front of the locals, the shepherds opened the fire before escaping. The police, working with the members of the community, arrested the twenty-year-old Suleman Mohammad (M), a shepherd, and recovered an AK-47 magazine charged with six live ammunition shots.
The police commissioner, the CP Shettimo Jauro Mohammed, ordered that all the suspicions arrested were transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigations (Scid) for discreet investigations and subsequent judicial proceedings.
The CP Mohammed reiterated the unshakable commitment of the command in making Nasarawa’s state safe for everyone, warning that there will be no hiding places for the criminals. He urged the residents to remain respectful of the law and continue to provide timely and credible information to help police operations.
