The police command in the state of Kaduna said that its agents arrested an alleged social media inciter during a raid in the Rigasa area in the area of ββthe local government of Igabi.
The public relations official of the command, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Tuesday in Kaduna.
Hassan said: “The command wishes to inform the public of the arrest of a *companion Mustapha Abubakar *, popularly known as *Dan Saudia *, a self-acclaimed social commentator.
“It is known for making inciting and misleading comments on social media platforms with the intention of interrupting public peace and security”.
According to him, the suspicion was arrested on Sunday during a coordinated raid in a black point known in the Rigasa area.
He explained that at the time of arrest, he was actively surprised to smoke and in possession of a large amount of dry leaves strongly suspected of being Indian hemp.
Hassan said that the suspect was currently in police custody and would be accused in court at the end of the investigations.
“The police commissioner, Rabiu Muhammad, has reaffirmed the unshakable commitment of the command to free the state of all the elements that social media use as a tool to encourage disorders or promote disharmony and illegal activities,” he said.
Hassan cited the CP as further issuing a strong warning for the public to be aware of their conduct on social media.
He warned that anyone who has found engaged in documents capable of threatening public peace or violating the law would have been decidedly treated in accordance with the provisions of the law.
