The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) has invited the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, for questioning in connection with a case involving serious allegations.
Based on the invitation letter signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Adamu Mu’azu on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ajaero was required to report to the IRT office on Tuesday, August 20, at exactly 10:00 am.
The letter alleged that Ajaero had been named in a case involving Criminal Conspiracy, Financing of Terrorism, Treason, Subversion and Cybercrime. Failure to comply with the invitation could result in an arrest warrant being issued against him.

The letter reads in part, βThis office is investigating a case of Criminal Conspiracy, Terrorism Financing, Treason, Subversion, and Cybercrime in which you are mentioned.
βYou are therefore invited to interview the undersigned on Tuesday, 20th August 2024 at 10:00am sharp, at the IRT Complex, Old Abattoir at Guzape Junction, Abuja, through the Team Leader with telephone number 08035179870 in connection with the above investigation.
βPlease know that if you do not comply with this letter, this office will have no choice but to activate the arrest warrant against you.β
The IRT has warned Ajaero to honor the invitation, saying they will take necessary action if he fails to show up. The development has raised concerns among labor leaders and human rights activists, who are closely monitoring the situation.
