Portugal beat Slovenia on penalties to reach the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 on Monday.
The match was decided on penalties after 120 minutes of goalless football, with Portugal winning 3-0 and Diogo Costa the hero, stopping three spot-kicks.
Cristiano Ronaldo had a chance to give Portugal the lead in the 105th minute of extra time, but his shot was saved by Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak.
Ronaldo, in tears, had to be consoled by his teammates after missing the penalty.
However, Ronaldo turned in the missed spot kick to convert Portugal’s first attempt in the shootout.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes scored Portugal’s second goal, while Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva scored the winning penalty.
Portugal’s Costa saved shots from Josip Ilicic, Jure Balkovec and Benjamin Verbic to give them a chance.
He becomes the first goalkeeper to save three penalties in a European Championship shoot-out, while Slovenia are now the first team in European Championship history not to score in a penalty shoot-out.
After advancing to the quarter-finals, Portugal will face France.
The French advanced to the quarter-finals thanks to a 1-0 victory against Belgium on Monday.
