Presidential denied Lamido’s claim about the role of Tinubu on June 12

Kepresidenan telah menolak pernyataan oleh mantan Gubernur Jigawa Sule Lamido bahwa Presiden Bola Tinubu mendukung pembatalan pemilihan presiden 12 Juni 1993, merek mereka “salah” dan “revisionis,” menurut sebuah pernyataan yang dikeluarkan pada hari Minggu oleh penasihat khusus Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, Bayo Onanuga, Bayo, Bayo Onanuga, Bayo, Bayo Onanuga, Bayo Onanuga, Bayo Onanuga, Bayo Onanuga, Bayo, Bayo Onanuga, Bayo, Bayo Onanuga, Bayo, Bayo Onanuga, Bayo, Bayo, Bayo, Bayo,

During Saturday’s performance on TV Arise, Lamido accused that Tinubu – then a SDP senator – supported by General Ibrahim Babangida to cancel the election. He further claimed that Mrs. Tinubu, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, gathered the Lagos Market woman to support the cancellation.

The presidential replies: “Alhaji Lamido’s claim represents historical distortion and regretty revisionism efforts. [Mogaji] Finished, he will lose his position as a market leader in Lagos, “added that every previous relationship with Babangida preceded the cancellation.

The role of Lamido during the crisis was also criticized. The statement highlighted its inhibition as Secretary of SDP when the military canceled democratic outcomes. “Lamido and Tony Anenih work together to deny Abiola’s mandate,” said the President.

On the contrary, the statement praised Tinubu for opposing the cancellation of the Senate – where on August 19, 1993, he condemned him as a “coup” – and through the activism of the grassroots after the November 1993 abacha coup.

Furthermore, it was noted that Tinubu participated in establishing Nadeco in May 1994, continuing the struggle in exile for almost five years, and played an important role in supporting activists and efforts of civilian development such as Lamido, which was reported to remain in harmony with the regime.

The president expressed disappointment over Lamido’s efforts to “rewrite history,” advising him to “check his facts before going to television.”

The statement concluded: “The facts remain clear: President Tinubu is – and remains – a firm advocate for democracy, different from the record of lamido and others who surrender in the face of military oppression”.
