Pro-Tinubu group treats 10,000 people in Kaduna and performs 212 surgeries

BATMEDICS, a medical and humanitarian support group affiliated with President Bola Tinubu’s support network, has provided free medical services to approximately 10,000 residents in seven locations in Kaduna State.

In a statement issued by Petra Akinti Onyegbule, Medical Director, Research and Communications BATMEDICS, said the initiative, conducted under the supervision of the Minister of Health and in collaboration with the Medical Directorate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Committee, was designed to bring essential healthcare services closer to residents, especially those struggling to afford hospital bills and other medical expenses.

According to the release, of the 10,000 beneficiaries reached, approximately 3,000 received an eye screening, while 212 underwent surgeries.

“The initiative also focused on health prevention, early diagnosis of pathologies and timely treatment, with the aim of reducing the burden of health costs on low-income families” reads the press release.

Speaking on the intervention, the Director General of BATMEDICS, Dr Ojeje Onimisi, said the awareness drive reflects the organisation’s commitment to ensuring that medical interventions go beyond diagnosis to include treatment and other essential health services.

Onimisi stressed that the impact of medical awareness programs should be measured not only by the number of people reached, but also by the tangible improvements they bring to the lives of beneficiaries.

“Medical care is not just about the number of people reached; it is about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. By bringing these services to seven locations in Kaduna, BATMEDICS has helped bring essential healthcare closer to thousands of people who need it,” he said.

He reaffirmed BATMEDICS’ commitment to supporting programs that expand access to healthcare and promote the well-being of Nigerians.

Some beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing the free services as timely relief amid the rising cost of medical care.

One beneficiary, Amina Musa, said the eye screening provided the opportunity to evaluate her vision without the immediate financial burden associated with accessing such services in a hospital.

“I am grateful that this program has come to our community. Many people need medical care but cannot always afford to visit a hospital. Being screened here has given me the opportunity to learn more about my eye health,” she said.

Another beneficiary, Ibrahim Sani, said the initiative allowed residents to access medical care that might otherwise have been delayed due to financial constraints.

He praised BATMEDICS for bringing healthcare workers closer to people and urged the organization to support the initiative and extend it to more communities.

Likewise, Fatima Abdullahi said the program demonstrated the importance of bringing health services directly to communities, particularly for residents who face financial and logistical challenges in accessing hospitals.

He called for regular medical contacts, stressing that routine screening and timely treatment could help identify health conditions before they become more serious.
