In a historical move, Radio Nigeria has appointed Mrs. Oloremi Olugbenro as the first indigenous manager of Paramount FM 94.5 Abeokuta, with a bold promise to lead the innovation, deepen the commitment of the community and raise the legacy of the excellence of the station.
Olugbenro officially took the reins on Wednesday 6 August 2025, in The Broadcasting Hill, Kobape, where he held his inaugural speech to the staff and the interested parties.
Describing his appointment as “a great honor”, he expressed gratitude to Almighty God and praised the Council of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FCCN), in particular the Zonal Director, Dominick Mokikan, for having entrusted it to the leadership of the iconic station.
“Paramount FM is not just a radio station; it’s a milestone in this community,” he said. “We were the soundtrack of life here for years, providing information, entertainment and a platform for local voices.
“That tradition of excellence is something that are deeply busy supporting and improving”.
Delinerating his vision, Olugbenro said that his administration would have embraced digital transformation and innovative programming tailored to meet the evolution needs of the public.
“We will explore new ways to involve our audience, from dynamic digital content to community initiatives on the pitch.
“We will continue to be the first choice for the news, the best source for music and the most reliable voice for the needs and aspirations of our community,” he said.
He also underlined the importance of teamwork and a style of leadership with open doors, exhorting staff members to contribute with ideas and energy to make the station more impactful.
“I believe in the power of collaboration and I want to listen to your ideas. My door is always open. Together, not only will we keep the reputation of Paramount FM as a leading station, but we raise it to new heights,” he added.
