Rinsola Babajide has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for the positive reception following her first invitation to the Super Falcons squad.
The Tenerife striker was included in Super Falcons’ squad for the upcoming 2024 Olympics qualifiers against Ethiopia.
Reacting to her maiden call up to the squad, Babajide said, she’s overwhelmed by the love shown to her by Nigerians following her inclusion in the team.
“The love I’ve been feeling has been very overwhelming, thank you so much. Grateful & blessed for this opportunity, #Honoured,” she wrote on her X.
“My main focus is trying to get into the team and just make sure I’m in the limelight.”
The 25-year-old has previously featured for England at the at U-19, U-20 and U-21 levels before switching allegiance to Nigeria at senior level.
The former Liverpool star trained with England’s senior team in 2020, but didn’t get a chance to play a game for her country of birth.
