National politics will always be an inviting graveyard for Rivers political leaders who follow the allure of being in Abuja after their tenure.
They never passed the qualifying exam, because they think that mountains of money, personal ambitions and grotesque intrigues can give them a national presence at the expense of the needs of the people of Rivers.
National politics has its allure, no doubt, and is momentary bragging rights, as well as the temptation of low-hanging fruit for politicians.
At the very least, some candidates from their stable will be promoted to board members, ambassadorial positions, etc… even replacing qualified people. But remember that these benefits are merely cosmetic.
Rivers State would be better if its economy was improved, made sustainable and stood on its feet instead of on droplets falling from the table, which is what you have access to now.
They assume that local profiling and their “Tiger” status in Port Harcourt can be photocopied at the centre. No. No. No.
The rest of Nigeria knows the indices and welcomes our ego, pride and money as mere glittering bits and bait to catch our boys and lead them to self-destruction.
We do not have a demographic that can win a national election, nor the benefit of Political Elders at the top, to advance our causes, when such powerful men and “owners of Nigeria” meet behind closed doors.
When the majority and power blocs in Nigeria are ready, they will always eliminate anyone, anyone, any lucky person, from here to power, without effort, without struggle, without a “godfather”. The cases of the distant past and the near past are signals.
Ambition, aspiration, noise, have never given any politician from here his political need, because it does not constitute a patrimonial basis.
Over the years, despite their annual pilgrimage to Abuja, they had not even employed their huge earnings in any economic and productive ventures back home.
To date, there are no farms, companies, sales points or even chains of commercial activities connected to them in Italy.
They had not provided daily economic labor, nor pushed their vuvuzelles into positions of national influence.
The events have prompted me to declare to Rivers Politicians, welcome to your graveyard, located in National Politics……if you fail to bring home engaging economic investments.
The questionnaires, alliances, permutations, plots and intrigues of the past, plus money, will not give anyone here a respectable dominant national profile, except a simple errand boy political position.
If you are not disillusioned with power, from them, their gravediggers will gladly show you an open grave…..When you don’t bring things home to ignite economic activities for our people…..you will be like this socket…finished loaded , overloaded, overused……and not effective.
