‘Go to the city of satellite and campaign against me if you can’

Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has issued a courageous challenge to Senator Irti Kingibe, dare to visit the Abuja satellite cities and criticize his performance in the office if he really believes he has failed as a minister.

The Minister in a statement, which was issued on Tuesday by his senior special assistant for public communication and social media, Lere Olayinka, in response to the statement of Senator Kingibe during a television interview on Monday night. In the interview, Kingibe claimed that the “biggest mistake” of the Tinubu Ball President was appointing Wike as Minister of FCT.

Reacting, Olayinka accused the senator was driven by the despair and political fear before the 2027 election.

He continued: “It’s funny that someone disguised as using the name of the Ambassador of Baba Gana Kingibe, who is no longer her husband, believes that jumping from one television station to another station to underestimate the Minister of FCT will revive his dead political career.”

Olayinka then dared the senator to take his criticism directly to community residents such as Saburi, Dei Dei, Kabusa, Ketti, Yangoji, Pai, Gomani, Gishiri, Kwaita, Yebu, Sukuku, Ebo, and Ushafa – children who benefited from New.

“He must put up a pulpit and tell people from these cities that pointing to Wike is a mistake. He can also go to traders at APO Mechanic Village, whose relocation dreams are finally realized after 15 years, and tell them that it is a mistake,” he said.

“In Abaji, the Federal Capital City University (FCTU), which has been abandoned for almost 15 years, is now experiencing a large -magnitude -increasing infrastructure development. Also, the general renovation of 22 schools has been completed last year, with more than 40 others currently being renovated,” Olayinka added.

He described Kingibe’s criticism as politically motivated, saying, “He knew that in 2027, he would not be able to maintain a senate chair that accidentally got it in 2023. The factors that took him to the Senate had gone, so he attacked Wike to get relevance.”

Layinka also accused the senator of the treatment of her aides. “Wike is not in the togetherness of frustrated politicians such as Ireti ‘Kingibe’ who treats helpers such as slaves, refusing to pay their wages and rights for months,” he said.

In a sharp personal friction, Olayinka advised the senator to have her identity: “At the age of 71, a woman must have a clear identity, use legitimate names, and stop using the name of a man who is no longer married.”

The exchange underlines the deeper cracks between the FCT’s main political position holders, as a battle for control and influence in the capital of Nigeria heating up ahead of the next election cycle.
