Russia rejects the news on Nigeriani’s recruitment for Droni – Thage factories

By Victor Osula, Abuja

The Russian government refuted the relationships that young Nigerians, in particular young women, are recruited in military drones factories under the pretext of scholarships patterns.

Reports had stated that Nigerian students, recruited in the context of a professional scholarship program, were engaged in the Assembly of military drones in the Special Economic Zone (Sez) in Alabuga, Tatarstan, for the current conflict in Ukraine.

Reacting in a declaration, Russia described the relationship as a false “defamation campaign sponsored by the west” rooted in a “colonial narrative”.

He explained that “the special Alabuga economic area was created in 2006 and remains one of the most efficient development areas in Russia”.

Rejecting relationships as rooted in a “colonial narrative”, Russia has reiterated its respect for the sovereignty and dignity of other nations, in particular African states.

He said: โ€œSome publications said that the Nigerians were attracted to the promises of education and high payment jobs, just to end up working in conditions of exploitation. These statements are completely unfounded.

“We support Africa and other countries in the fight against terrorism and the remains of colonialism. The accusations that we exploit foreign students for military production are politically motivated and lack credible evidence”.
