Seville confirmed the mutual termination of the Kelechi Iheanacho contract, ending the stay of the Nigerian striker with the side of La Liga. The 28 -year -old, who signed from Leicester City in 2024, scored 11 appearances and scored three goals before being lent to Middlesbrough in January, where he participated 15 times with a goal and two assists.

Iheanacho returned to the Highbst but was unable to make the day team in the three Sevilla championship matches, leading to his release a year before his agreement should expire. Coach Matías Almeyda had preferred other attack options this season.

The former Manchester City striker is now a free agent and has been strongly linked to the Scottish Celtic champions, who remain eager to bring him inside while trying to strengthen their attack following their elimination of the Champions League.
