Sowore’s party, AAC, wrote Tinubu, wants to hold the inauguration of the PCC in Aso Rock

The African Action Congress (AAC) has written to President Bola Tinubu, seeking permission to inaugurate a Presidential Campaign Council for its candidate, Omoyele Sowore, at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.

The party, which said the event is scheduled for November 11, 2026, also asked for food and logistical assistance for the 5,000 supporters expected to attend the event, from home and abroad.

The party argued that if such treatment could be accorded to the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), then such treatment should be extended to all other political parties in the spirit of fairness and multi-partisan inclusiveness.

The letter was signed by the party’s national secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena.

The request came after the Presidential Villa recently hosted the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

The AAC request seeks to hold the inauguration of its own campaign board at the same venue ahead of the 2027 general election.
