SSS threatens a legal action against GAMD NNPC GMD NNPC relationship

The state security service (SSS), also known as the Department of State Services (DSS), has threatened a criminal and civil legal action against gazette people for a relationship that argues that the general manager of the agency, Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, was involved in the alleged abandonment and forced the resignation of the CEO of the National Wetroleum Limited (NNPCL).

In a letter dated August 5 and signed by Ayodiji Adendipe (San), the Consultant of the ASS and its general manager, the newspaper was accused of publishing a “defamatory and unfounded” article that portrayed the agency as “an irresponsible and reckless organization” and its boss as a “man of ax and a blast used for political execution.

The controversial report, published on August 2, said that Ojulari was forcibly taken and pressure to resign by Mr. Ajayi and the President of the Commission for Economic and Financial Crimes (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, following an alleged directive by a woman identified as Olatimbo Ayinde, described in the report as President Bola Bola Tinubu.

The article presented photographs of the general manager of the SSS, the president of the Fcc and Mrs. Ayinde, that the agency’s lawyer has further demonstrated the intention of defaming and defaming the image and integrity of both the institution and his leadership.

“Our customers were serious and seriously injured in their integrity and character from your unfounded and unfounded publication”, reads the letter.

“From your defamatory publication, our customers have been flooded with calls by the Nigerians both inside and outside the country with so many of them that express indignation and disappointment in our customers.”

The SSS asks that the gazette people immediately withdrawn history from all its online platforms and emit unsettles without reservations using the same platforms through which the original article was published.

The letter warned that failure to comply with requests within 48 hours would entail both a civil and criminal law, including actions pursuant to the IT crimes law (prohibition, prevention, etc.).

“Since your conduct can be implemented in itself, just as it is a criminal offense pursuant to the provisions of the Cybercrimes Act of Nigeria”, wrote the lawyer, adding that the agency would proceed with a legal action “without further references” to the publication.

Peoples Gazette has yet to issue a public response to the requests of the ASS at the time of this report.
