–48 hour ultimatum–

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, has ordered police formations and tactical units across the state to flush out the attackers within 48 hours.

The directive was issued during an emergency security meeting at the State Police command headquarters with senior officers and tactical unit leaders.

“I want you to fish out the attackers and killers of our officers. I demand immediate action to arrest those responsible for this heinous act. I want results,” Orutugu said.

He described the attack as a direct attack on state authority and vowed that it would not go unpunished.

“The people of Anambra State must know that the police are fully responsible and ready to protect them. This kind of killing cannot happen on my watch. We must bring those responsible to justice and put an end to their activities,” the PC added.

–New criminal tactic: fake uniforms–

Orutugu raised the alarm over emerging tactics, saying intelligence shows attackers now disguise themselves in police and military uniforms to evade detection.

He urged public vigilance, especially on vulnerable routes.

–The Amansea–Ufuma road is marked as a danger zone–

The Police Commissioner specifically warned motorists and commuters using the Amansea-Ufuma road, calling it an isolated route that has become a hotspot for criminal ambushes.

“The Amansea-Ufuma road is a particularly isolated route. Commuters and citizens should exercise caution while traveling on the road as it has, in recent times, become a den of criminal elements,” he warned.
