The CEO of Monimichelle Sports, Mr. Egi Egbe, faced the repercussions that surrounds the update in progress of the Aku Aku open in Makurdi, revealing that the company has never been contracted for a total revision.
“The original contract was only for the main structures for the bowl,” Ebie said. “We have hired further works – including medical rooms, referee areas and more – following the directives of the governor and Nff, without early payment.”
Ebie said that only 70% of the original sum was paid, with extra work waiting for funding. He accused the contractors that of having spread falsehood after losing the project.
“We are transparent and busy. Corruption and blackmail will not make our quality delivery derail,” he said.
He invited the public to compare the costs of the project with the updates of the ongoing stadium in Warri and Enugu, stating: “N1.7 billion cannot satisfy the FIFA/CAF standards for a poor 10,000 -seater stage”.
