The Congress of the South-Western PDP returns Ajisafe, 21 Excos not opposite

The Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP), a south-western congress, on Wednesday, returned Kamorudeen Ajisafe as south-western zonal president of the party.

The elections took place during the party zonal congress held on Wednesday at Theophilus Ogunwusi Hall, Uch, Ibadan.

The election, which produced the zonal manager of 22 members, without opposition, also saw the emergence of Muyiwa Obagunwa as a zonal secretary, Adeyemo Adventune as a zonal treasurer and Yahaya Adeleke as a zonal financial secretary.

Among the other elected zonal managers are: Benson Adegbenro – Organizational Secretary, Mrs Bosade AdeDibu – Zonal women’s leader and Shefiu Adhesina – Auditor.

In his acceptance speech, Ajisafe, on behalf of the managers, undertaken to advance the party while urged the support of the party leaders.

He assured all the members of the party that the PDP would have won the most states in the area under his presidency.

In his welcome speech, the guest and the Governor of the State of Oyo, Seyi Makinde, accused party members in the area of ​​remaining united.

According to him, the unit among all would improve the progress of the party.

Makinde said that the success of the zonal elections would be a point of reference for the next National Congress.

In his message of goodwill, the governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun, said that the success of the elections confirmed that the South -ovest PDP remained an entity, while soliciting other areas of the PDP to emulate the area.

Adeleke praised the party members for their resilience and commitment for the party, regardless of the crisis that had shaken it.

The chief Olabode George and the candidate of the PDP during the elections of the Governorate of 2023 in Ogun, Capo Ladi Adbold were among the heads of the party participating in the congress.

The former governor of the state of Akwa Ibom, Emmanuel Uom, supervised the conduct of the elections, while the representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INC) obeyed the conduct of the elections.
