By Victor Osula, Abuja

The High Federal Court, Abuja, set on May 27 as the date of judgment on the suspension of Natasha Akpoti-Auduaghan, the senator who represents Kogi Central in the national assembly.

Judge Binta Nyako planned the question of judgment on Tuesday, after all the parties have adopted their final discussion bries.

Natasha was suspended on March 6 for six months due to alleged bad conduct and violation of the rules of the Senate. His suspension includes the withdrawal of his salary, the security details, the blocked access to the premises of the National Assembly and identification as a senator.

The tumult to the Plenary Senate on February 20 as a dispute on seats agreements led to an exchange between Natasha and Akpabio. The confusion began after Kogi’s senator expressed his regret for changing his place.

Natasha had accused Akpabio of persistent sexual progress. He said that Akpabio’s hostility against him derives from his refusal to entertain them.

“My refusal to give in to its consistent progress, both inside and outside the country, is the reason behind the victimization that it is related to the Senate. It all started on December 8, 2023, which was a day before her birthday and my birthday; we are birthday companions,” he said; An accusation that the President of the Senate has constantly denied.

While the Senate referred to Natasha to his Ethics Committee and the privileges for disciplinary action on his conduct, however, he approached the high federal court in search of an order that prevents the committee from proceeding with the investigation.

Cited as defendants in the cause marked: FHC/Abj/CS/384/2025, they are the employee of the National Assembly, the Senate, the President of the Senate Akpabio, as well as the president of the Senate Ethics Committee, the privileges and public petitions, the senator Nedamwen IMASUEN.

Following his ex -party question, the judge Obiora Egwuatu on March 4 issued an order that prevents the Senate from starting the disciplinary proceedings against Natasha.

Previously, the Senate consultant, Paul Daudu (San), and that of the President of the Senate, Ekwo Ejembo, said that Natasha disobeyed the order of the court when, on March 27, he published a satirical letter of apologies to the President of the Senate on his Facebook page and published it in some national dalieri.

For his part, the consultant of Natasha, Jibrin Okutekpa (San), reminded the Court of a motion of disobedience of the Court’s order against all the defendants presented previously. He said that the accredited declaration to the suspended senator had no link with her, also adding that the alleged contemptuous declaration had no connection with the actor.

Okutekpa urged the court to invalidate the suspension of Natasha as it was pronounced in disobedience of a valid order of the court.
