The court gave the deadline for the Nigerian government in September to close the case against Dasuki

Judge Peter Lifu from the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday gave the Federal Government the deadline for September to close his case in the trial of the former National Security Advisor (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki (RETD), due to alleged ownership of firearms and money laundering that violated the law.

The judge gave the Federal Government on September 24, 25 and 26 to call the remaining witnesses and tender all exhibitions to support the indictment, who had been delayed for a decade.

Dasuki, who was first charged in 2015, faced the charges that were changed seven and will open his defense once the prosecution closes the case.

At the last trial, witness to the prosecution, Mohammed Monsur, told the court that after the arrest of Dasuki, his place of residence in Abuja, Kaduna, and Sokoto was sought by weapons and cash.

Mohammed, led in evidence by legal advisors, Mr. Oladipupo Okpeseyi (San), registered goods found from Abuja’s residence in Dasuki in 46, Nelson Mandela Street, Asokoro.

At Dasuki’s house in 46, Nelson Mandela Street, Asokoro, he registered two Freedom Compact radio discs in Jokolo, two trust bank check books, two BlackBerry phones, Nokia phones, Flash Drive, Apple laptops and account statements.

Others are visa cards, approval letters for radio stations given to Afri-Media Integrated Limited, one CD over the arrest and implementation of the founder of Boko Haram, Mohammed Yusuf, $ 500 and 533 Saudi Riyadh.

Also recovering is a HSBC account book and Habibson Limited check book owned by Abubakar Ibrahim.

The court recognizes the goods as MSD 015 exhibitions to 034 after no objection from Dasuki’s lawyer, Mr. Ahmed Usman.

At the residence of former NSA in Sabo Birni, Sokoto state, the exhibition guard claimed that $ 150,000 was found in the DPR and was then stored with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The witness said he would ask DSS to bring cash to court to be tendered as an exhibition.

Judge Lifu, when giving a delay request, directed the federal government to be ready to close his case of Dasuki and for him to open his defense.
