The famous bandit leader, Bello Turji, finally confirmed that negotiations are currently ongoing to end violence and insecurity in Zamfara and other parts of the northwestern region under its control.
In a new video released by the most sought -after bandit Kingpin, he was heard saying that negotiations were intended to encourage eternal peace to enable farmers and herders to live side by side and carry out their livelihoods without fear of violence or harassment.
In the video shared on X on Thursday by security expert, Zagazola Makama, Turji said he was determined to negotiate and work for peace initiatives to graduate.
Speaking in Hausa, Turji said:
“What we want is peace, peace that will allow the shepherds of Fulani and farmers to live without fear or oppression.”

He also has rough words for an Islamic scholar, Sheikh Murtala Bello Asada, who has just denied the existence of a ongoing peace negotiation between the bandits and the government
In a verbal attack on Sheikh, Turji accused the ulama of deliberately misleading the public.
“You sit in the hall (mosque) surrounded by people and on social media who say there is no conversation. If you are brave, come and lead the security forces to catch me because that’s what you always preach,” he challenged.
