Ademola Governor Adeleke from Osun’s state has denied claims that show that he plans to defect from the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2026 Governor Election in the state.
In a statement issued on Friday by his spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, the Governor described a report on the alleged alignment with ADC numbers as “wrong and unfounded,” reiterate his loyalty to PDP and his intention to find a re-election on the party platform.
Rumors will come after a similar claim that he has held talks and plans to move to the Congress of All Progressive (APC). He also strongly denied him at first, but his maid then claimed the conversation had been damaged, so he chose to remain in PDP.
His statement followed the support of July 21 by the Caucus PDP Negara Osun, which reiterated the support for Adeleke’s second term offer and officially adopted Bola President Ahmed Tinubu for the re -election in the 2027 presidential election.
In a newer rejection, Rasheed said, “Our attention has been focused on the report on the buyer of the Governor of Adeleke which will soon occur to the ADC or alignment with ADC officials ahead of the 2026 Governor’s race,” the statement said. “There is no truth in the publication and speculation.”

Adeleke reiterated that PDP in Osun’s state remained its political home and that there was no alliance with ADC or its members needed for its reconciliation.
“I remain in PDP, will run in PDP, and there is no need for alliances with ADC to win with broad margins in 2026,” he said confidently.
He further noted that his performance in the office had given him the trust and support of Osun voters, which according to him would be translated into victory at the polling station.
“Osun voters supported me because of my impressive performance since I came to the office. A good job is ongoing, and people are committed to maintaining good governance delivery by choosing me again in 2026,” he said.
Governor Adeleke also urged PDP members in Osun to continue to strengthen the party structure at all levels in preparation for next year’s election.
