The former dalung minister exposes those behind the “genocidal killing” plateau

*We are with the plateau: exposing the truth behind the murders and the silence of complicity

The movement for the emancipation of Nigeria (men) extends its deepest condolences to the innocent victims of the recent coordinated attacks in the area of the local government of Bokkos of the Plateau state. Our hearts bleed for the over 52 lost lives and the thousands displaced in Mongor, Daffo, Manguna, Hurti, Tadai and surrounding villages.

While the state is still fighting with the crisis and the management of the displacement, another tragic tour of attacks in the communities of Zike and Kimakpa has occurred in the Kwall district of Irigwe, area of the local government of Bassa, in the state of the plateau, with consequent loss of 47 lives and the destruction of ancestral settlements.

In this moment of anguish, men are in total solidarity with mourning families and resilient people of the plateau. You are not alone.

We cry not only the lost lives, but the continuous desecration of the ancestral lands, the humiliation of dignified people and the intentional silence of those who are elected to protect them.

A crisis with roots

Don’t let anyone pretend of this violence yesterday. The Plateau crisis has roots that date back to 2001, with spreads of blood spread through Jos North, Jos South, Riyom, Barkin Ladi and other LGA. However, the story will remember how the LGA of the southern plateau-Langang North, Langang South, Shendam, Wase and Quanpan-they chose the first line of defense through local security initiatives and supervisory guided by the community.

The people of these LGA joined through the tribe and faith to defend their dignity and inheritance. Through self-organization and traditional security systems, they smoked attackers and claimed peace-a peace not mediated by Abuja, but was born from the inside. This is a plateau solution to a problem with a plateau root and now it must be replicated throughout the line if peace is truly the goal.

In Azare, the state of Bauchi, a similar story has developed. When the insurgents of Boko Haram attacked their city, people gathered and unload them. No federal battalion came to save them. It was the power of people, the local knowledge and the courage that ensured themselves. The same can and must happen in the plateau.

Relationships that collect dust, criminals that walk free

It is a betrayal of justice that, despite numerous white documents and reports from judicial commissions of investigation that indicate individuals behind these crises, no implementation has been followed. Instead, the Walk Free, could contest the elections, organize public offices and continue to allow violence. Even those arrested and paraded with dangerous weapons are issued through compromised criminal justice or corrupt procedures for the application of the law.

This inability to enforce justice has encouraged the killers. Each impunity massacre becomes a license for the next one. What we are witnessing is not a “conflict”, are the genocidal killings enabled by impunity.

The frightening revelations of the governor Mutfwang

We are upset by the shocking revelations of the governor Caleb Mutfwang according to which over 64 communities were detected by terrorists. The discovery of Iswap cells operating in the state of the plateau represents an alarming analysis of the problem of the insurrection of Nigeria in the central-northern region.

The security forces pursuant to the Safe Haven (Opsh) operation recently arrested two suspected Iswap members during a Plateau’s sting at Shendam LGA. These men, both of 25 years old, had disguised themselves as local tailors while working secretly to establish an ISWAP base in the state.

The preliminary investigations revealed that they were acting on the directives of an ISWAP commander to establish new terrorist cells in the plateau and in the nearby state of Bauchi. This confirms that Iswap, a jihadist group originally focused in the region of the lake and in the north-eastern region, is actively trying to expand its imprint in the central belt.

The implications are serious: an area already afflicted by bandits and common conflicts now faces the further threat of a well -organized Islamist insurrection. Unlike sporadic mandaters, ISWAP sophisticated terrorist tactics, ideological extremism and potential ties with international terrorist networks.

The simple presence of ISWAP agents on the plateau of the plateau is sufficient to upset the region. It raises fears that bombings, kidnappings or tactics of terrorist attack coordinates seen in the north -est of Nigeria can occur in the platform communities that have not experienced this rebellious violence so far. In short, this intelligence of the presence of ISWAP injects a new frightening element in the safety crisis of Plateau, which could drastically intensify violence if left without control.

Kaduna declaration or distraction of Kaduna?

We are equally disturbed by a recent meeting in Kaduna in which a group that claims to represent Fulani’s interests has declared a “condition for peace” in the state of the plateau. We ask:
If they are truly Plateau, why didn’t they keep this meeting in Jos, Plateau?
Why do the people who claim to be victims asking pre-condits before peace?

This is not a negotiation. It is veiled extortion in ethnic law.

This is not farmers vs shepherds, it is genocide

Let’s try to be clear: this is not a clash of farmers. What is happening in the plateau is systematic ethnic cleaning and a genocidal project. The targeted nature of the attacks, the displaced models and the revelation of the governor according to which 64 communities were detected by the terrorists all indicate a resolved plan to sweep away the indigenous communities and occupy ancestral lands.

Dollevare these facts is to encourage evil.

What do we ask

The movement for the emancipation of Nigeria requires the following:

Immediate institution and financing of a system of vigilants at the plateau level under the control of the community and traditional institutions.

Complete implementation of all white documents and relations of the commissions relating to the Plateau crisis.

According to reports, the reclamation of all 64 communities detected by terrorists, with displaced people returned under security guarantees.

Penalties against individuals and groups that emit incorrect declarations outside the state, aimed at legitimizing terrorism.

Our last word

Men are looking. The plateau will not walk alone. Nigeria must not continue on this path of ethnic cleaning enabled by the state while masking itself from democracy.

We invite all the oppressed Nigerians, regardless of the tribe or religion, to rise in defense of truth, justice and our shared humanity.

Peace is not a gift of government: it is a right to the people.
We will talk. We will remain. And we will not be silenced.
