The youth borders of the Northern Youth (North West Zone) have refuted the recent comments made by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in which he said that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has put aside the northern Nigeria in his development agenda.
In a declaration issued on Monday, the coordinator of the North West of the group, Saminu Tukur described the statements of Kwankwaso as misleading and politically motivated to trigger disputes with respect to the custodial constructive speech.
Tukur wants rather that northern young people support the efforts that favor unity, growth and transparent governance rather than being used as tools in political battles.
“In light of the recent statements made by Rabiu Kwankwaso regarding the alleged negligence of northern Nigeria by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the north -western area of the northern youth borders, he feels forced to clarify the facts and make the record clear.
“We recognize the importance of political discourse in our democratic process; however, it is essential that these discussions are based on truth and constructive commitment rather than in unfounded statements.
“Kwankwaso’s statement according to which the northern region is neglected in terms of development is not only misleading, but a strategic maneuver aimed at pushing the government to spread the wide range of projects that have been started or completed in the north under the leadership of President Tinubu.
“This tactic, although not rare in the political arena, deserves control, in particular when it risks sowing the discord among the same components that claims to represent,” he said.
Tukur has observed that the administration of President Tinubu has, in the last two years, has implemented a wide range of impact projects throughout northern Nigeria, in particular in critical sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, health care and energy.
“These initiatives are not simple promises; they represent a tangible commitment to face the multifaceted challenges that the Region must face. From the construction of new roads and bridges to the strengthening of healthcare structures and the promotion of agricultural innovation, the federal government has made great strides in transforming significant socio-economic landscapes.
“For example, road infrastructure projects in progress aim to improve connectivity and accessibility, which are essential for economic activities and the movement of goods and services,” says the note.
The declaration also states that the revitalization of agricultural initiatives, including the supply of modern agricultural equipment and training for farmers, is intended to increase productivity and food safety in the region.
In addition, he said, investments in healthcare facilities are designed to ensure that citizens have access to quality medical services, thus improving general well -being.
“It is important to note that the success of these projects depends on collaboration and transparency. As such, we are confident that Kwankwaso is aware of these developments and we plan that it will soon recognize the progress made.
“We invoke the young people of northern Nigeria to resist the temptation to be used by unscrupulous and desperate politicians who try to encourage unnecessary comparisons with the government. History has shown that these tactics often lead to conflicts and conflicts, immersing attention from real issues at hand and that commit themselves.
“Instead, we encourage young people to engage in a constructive dialogue and consider their leaders responsible in a way that promotes unity and development,” he said.
