Hon. Likewise, Hon. Aro Moshood (Ikorodu Elegance II) urged the police commissioner to establish a tactical team dedicated mainly to the monitoring of the roads because “the time has come that the government took the bull from the horns”.
Praise Hon. Okanlawon for moving the motion, Hon. Adebola Shabi (Lagos Mainland Collity 2) said that the presidents of the local government play a huge role in the fight against this threat.
Effective strategies, he added, must be designed by recommending the installation of circuit cameras closed in the identified black spots.
However, Hon. OBAFEMI Saheed (Electoral College of Kosofe 2) revealed that the government has heavily invested safely through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF and, therefore, should not sit and look at the unbelievers to take the city.
Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashu Obasa, he praised the Hon. Okanlawon and the legislators who contributed robust to the debate. He said the police and other security agencies, including the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps (LNSC), must collaborate to ensure that Lagos remains safe for residents, commuters and visitors.
