The military hammer falls on 16 officers on indiscipline, violation of service regulations

According to reports, Abuja (Reporter Core Reporter) Sedici (16) Officers are intended to face military justice for indiscipline and violation of service regulations, said the armed forces of Nigeria.

A declaration by the Director of Defense Information, the Brigadier General Tukur Gusau on Saturday. On September 4, 2025 he said that some of the arrested officers had been jurisdictions for various crimes, waiting or in the course of trial. Their conduct was considered incompatible with the standards of military service.

According to the declaration, “the armed forces of Nigeria want to inform the public that a routine military exercise led to the arrest of sixteen officers on issues of indiscipline and violation of the service regulations. The investigations revealed that their complaints derive largely from the stagnation of the career perceived caused by a repeated bankruptcy of promotion tests, among other issues.

“Some of the arrested officers had been jurisdiction for various crimes, waiting or in the course of trial. Their conduct was considered incompatible with the military service standards.

“Upon completion of the investigations, the officers accused will have to face the entire military disciplinary process in accordance with the procedures established to guarantee responsibility and preserve the professionalism within the armed forces.

“The armed forces want to ensure the public that these actions are strictly disciplinary of nature and part of routine efforts to maintain order, discipline and loyalty in the ranks.

“The armed forces will not tolerate the behavior that undermines the integrity of the institution or threatens its constitutional role under the democratic authority. The armed forces of Nigeria remain fully engaged in its constitutional responsibilities and will always remain professional”. The declaration concluded.
