The Police Services Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 952 police superintendants (ASPS) to the degree of deputy police superintendents (DSP).
The Commission, however, refused the promotion of 176 officers who withdrawn and three others suspected of being deceased.
Mr. Ikechukwu Ani, press leader and public relations at the PSC, revealed it in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said that the decisions were among the salient moments of the first plenary meeting of the sixth Council of the Commission.
Ani added that the commission’s approval had been sent to the police inspector (PGI) for implementation.
The president of PSC, Mr. Hashimu Argentu, congratulated the officers who have just promoted.
ARGUNGU, however, warned that the police staff from now on must absorb the spirit of nationalism and respect both the laws of the nation and the regulations of the police service.
The president of the PSC stressed that the Commission would no longer tolerate diversified or unauthorized actions in the service of the officers, in particular when there are channels established for aerial complaints.
Argentu reiterated the commitment of the Commission in protecting the progression of the officers’ career, ensuring that it was neither hindered nor threatened.
