The recently recruited soldier stabs the police officer in Taraba

A newly recruited soldier presumably stabbed a police officer, Aaron John To death during a violent altercation in Mayo-Goyi, a suburb of Jalingo, the capital of the state of Taraba.

The accident, which occurred around 21:00 on Monday, aroused indignation among the residents and further tense military civil relations in the area.

According to reports, the deceased officer was responding to a rescue call by the members of the community for a dispute that involves the soldier, Dauda Dedan, when the tragic confrontation followed.

According to the spokesman for the Taraba State Police Command, SP James Lashen, agent John attempted to intervene in the altercation, but the situation intensified, leading to being mortally stabbed by suspicion.

Despite the efforts to save his life, John has sold to his wounds.

Confirming the accident to Jalingo journalists on Wednesday, Lashen said the suspicion is currently on the run.

> “We reported the question to the headquarters of the Nigerian army brigade and we were given the guarantee that the fugitive soldier will be arrested and brought to justice,” said Lashen.

He added that the police command is working closely with the military authorities to trace and arrest suspicion.

In the meantime, according to reports, the Nigerian army has started a complete investigation on the matter, committing itself to ensuring that justice is served.

The murder has sent shock waves through the local community, with many residents that express concern for the increase in the number of violent clashes involving security personnel.

The Taraba State Police Command asked for calm, ensuring the public that justice will not be compromised.
