“Maryam has suffered from malnutrition since we fled from north to Rafah,” his mother explained. “Because of the hunger in the south, we are starving, but that is not worse than we face it now.”

The Maryam case is almost not unique.

“I went to several hospitals last week and each of them was overwhelmed by cases of malnutrition, severe malnutrition -children, teenagers, just call it,” representatives of Ocha Gaza Olga Cherevko told me.
