Tuesday the defense headquarters confirmed the killing of a feared terrorist Kingpin, Yellow Danbokkolo, during a one-week military offensive in the north-west.
The director of the Defense Media Operations, the main general Markus Kangye, revealed in a declaration that the operation and operation of the Code name Fasan Yamma was carried out by troops in collaboration with hybrid forces, aerial components and other security agencies.
Kangye said that the coordinated assault was launched following credible intelligence on the movement of armed terrorists who run away from military pressure through parts of the states of Sokoto and Zamfara.
“During the meeting, Yellow Danbokkolo, a notorious terrorist leader who tormented the communities in the Eastern Sokoto for years, supported wounds of firearm dangerous for life and died on Monday”, read the declaration.
According to the military, the terrorist killed was more feared than the infamous Bello Turji. Danbokkolo was presumably behind several fatal attacks, including the 2021 Shinkofi massacre in the state of Zamfara, where travelers were burned alive in a shocking act of arson.
Military sources revealed that Danbokkolo was dependent on pentazocine, a powerful pain reliever, who according to what reported to numb himself himself while he carried out gruesome operations.
The defense headquarters observed that the killing marks a significant success in the anti -terrorism campaign in progress and promised to support the pressure on the remaining terrorist leaders, including Turji, who is said to be hiding.
“The armed forces of Nigeria remain committed to restoring peace and normality throughout the country. We ask the Nigerians to support and collaborate with the security agencies while we intensify the efforts to free the nation from criminal elements,” added Kangye.
The death of Danbokkolo is seen as a serious blow for terrorist networks in the region, with residents and security experts who hope that Banditi weakens and restore trust in military efforts.
