During the special prayer session at the National Mosque, Abuja, which attracted governors, ministers, politicians and worshipers from across the country, the Sultan of Sokoto, represented by the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, together with other eminent traditional rulers and Islamic scholars, prayed for Allah’s guidance, wisdom, good health and strength for President Bola Tinubuas who directs the affairs of the nation
President Tinubu arrived at the mosque a few minutes after 3pm where he attended special prayers and later observed Asr prayers with Muslim worshipers before leaving the venue.
The Etsu Nupe described the meeting as a solemn spiritual exercise rather than a celebration, stressing the need for continuous prayers for peace, unity and national development.
He also called for government support for the maintenance and social welfare needs of the National Mosque.
Likewise, the Emir of Keffi, Chindo Yamusa, lauded the President’s efforts in addressing economic challenges and supporting states, stressing that interventions in salary payments and infrastructure development are already producing benefits, particularly in Nasarawa State.
Islamic scholars from various sects in Nigeria have offered prayers for the well-being of the president and the stability of the country. The session featured the recitation of the entire Holy Quran 111 times by over 300 scholars, along with special supplications for the progress of Nigeria.
Expressing the President’s appreciation, Senate Vice President Barau Jibrin thanked religious leaders, government officials and participants for their prayers and support.
He said President Tinubu remains committed to national unity and development, stressing the importance of continuous prayers for the success of his administration.
The event concluded with Professor Imam Ibrahim Maqari praying for lasting peace, prosperity and stability in Nigeria.
A prayer session in honor of the President was also held in Kaduna, organized by the Think Tank Arewa.
Present were the former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Muktar Ramallan Yero and Senator Tijjani Kaura Tafida, representing Senator Abdulaziz Yari, His Royal Highness Alhaji Mohammed Haruna, Emir of Wase; representatives of Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State; Governor Nasiru Karan Gwandu of Kebbi State; and Comrade Issa Aremu, Director General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labor Studies.
