Tinubu appointed the Government Council, the main officer for the Federal University

The Tinubu Bola President on Tuesday appointed Senator Binta Garba as a pro-cancele and chairman of the new Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences Board in Iyin Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Special advisors about information and strategies to the President, Bayo Onanuga, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.

Garba, a politician, businessman and administrator, represented the North Adamawa Senatorial District in the Senate from 2015 to 2019.

He also served in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2011.

Another member of the Government Council is – Prof. Joseph Sanya, Mr. EFE Emefienin Emmanuel, Dr. Joyce Ogunyemi and Alhaji Dahiru Ruma.

The main official appointed to the university is Prof. James Aribisala as Vice Chancellor, Mr. Oluwole chest as a registrant; Mrs. Adeniyi Ajayi as Bursar; and Prof. Isaac Busayo as a librarian.

President Tinubu acknowledged the praiseworthy efforts of the Senate leader, Openemi Bamidle, in advocating for the establishment of the new university at Iyin Ekiti.

He encouraged the person appointed to take advantage of their extensive leadership experience and commitment to direct the university towards academic advantage, research and innovative development.

The new university will recognize the first set of students in September.

President Tinubu also appointed Prof. Muhammmed Audu as a pro-sacelit and chairman of the Government Council of Federal Health Sciences, Otukpo, Benue.

Audu, who replaced OhiDakku Salami, was an academic and administrator with a big experience in the Nigerian University system.

“A mathematics professor at the University of Jos, he previously served as Vice Chancellor of the Federal Technology University, Minna, where he led a transformative initiative that increased academic development and infrastructure,” the statement added.
