Ball President Ahmed Tinubu has formed the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) Board and Universal Service Provision Funds (USPF).
Both institutions are under the supervision of the Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy.
Special advisors about information and strategies to the President, Bayo Onanuga, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
Idris Olorunnimbe was appointed as Chairman of the NCC, while Dr. Aminu Maida remains the Deputy Chairperson of the Executive/Chief Executive Officer.
President Tinubu appointed Maida to that position in October 2023, and the Senate confirmed the appointment the following month.
Mr. Olorunnimbe had previously served in the Lagos State Work Trusteeship Fund Board, where he arranged stakeholders and the Governance Committee and encouraged the Youth and Entrepreneurship Work Program that had an impact.
Other council members are- Abraham Oshidami- Executive Commissioner, Technical Services, Rimini Makama- Executive Commissioner, Management of Stakeholders, Hajia Maryam Bayli- Former Director, Human Capital & Administration, Colonel Abdulwahab Lawal (Retd), and Senator Lekan Mustafa.
The rest are Chris Okorie and Putri Offtorsenere Emiko as Council Secretary.
The President also approved the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) Council, with Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, as chairman.
Other members are – Idris Olorunimbe – Deputy Chairperson, Abraham Oshidami, Rimini Makama, Aliyu Edogi Aliyu – (REP FMCIDE), Joseph B Faluyi – (Rep. Federal Ministry of Finance), Auwal Mohammed – (Rep. FMBNP), and.

The rest are Peter Bankole, Abayomi Anthony Okanlawon, Gafar Oluwasegun Quadri, and USPF secretary.
The Federal Government established USPF to facilitate the achievement of national policy goals for universal access and services to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in rural areas, not served, and less served in Nigeria.
