The presidency reacted to the announcement that former President Goodluck Jonathan will join the 2027 presidential race.

The reposting of the presidency could be compared to Obasanjo’s response of Obasganjo in 1999 to the question of a journalist on his readiness to the race against Olu Falae.

Obasanjo shot the journalist: “Gae Fili Ga Doki” who in the Parliament of Hausa is transliterated as “see horse, see the field” for the race or the race to be held.

Member of the Foundation Council of the Democratic Party (PDP), Prof. Jerry Gana had announced Jonathan’s decision to apply for the presidency of 2027 on the party platform.

Gana made the news public on Sunday.

Reacting on Monday at the announcement, the presidency, in a declaration of the special consultant to the president for the media and advertising, Bayo Onanuga, said that Jonathan, former governor and subsequently vice -president, was welcome to the race.

Onanuga said that the Nigerians would remember Jonathan, who took on the office of the president when President Umaru Yar’adua died.

The declaration is published below in the extension:

“While we begin the march towards the 2027 elections prematurely married on the nation by the despair of the opposition that came across the president Bola Tinubu despite his giant and clear steps, we are once again given with a cacophony of voices, most of them full of sound and fury, not indicating anything, to paraphrase Williams Shakespeare in one of his classic works.

“A recent statement that stands out in his absurdity is Professor Jerry Gana. The former Minister of Information and National Orientation, moving to the drama of the former President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2007 presidential race, said that the former president would have contested the next elections on the platform of the Democratic Party Scarded (PDP), who granted a bond of an economic consequence.

“Gana has even deluded himself, stating that the former president would defeat President Tinubu to recover power after 12 years.

“Prof. Gana of the deceased fame of Mamser is free to delude himself and engage in his usual comedy; after all, Jonathan’s entry into the race would have provided another job for the former University of State Origin of Niger.

“However, we should warn the former president Jonathan to be wary of cheerleader covered with PDP sugar. Jerry Gana’s politicians simply want to attract him to the race to satisfy their personal, political, religious and ethnic interests. They will abandon him halfway, as they did in 2015, and leave the gentleman Jonathan to Lurch.

“Do not be wrong: President Jonathan reserves the right to run if he wishes. It is his inalienable right to contest the presidency again. President Tinubu will welcome him with all his heart if he decides to enter the race. But Jonathan will have his date in court. Given, in case of success, for a third term in office.

“Shorn of all those selfish considerations for which some great pistols of the PDP find his candidacy attractive, President Jonathan will also have his meeting with people on the fact that he has something new to offer after his disastrous six years, for whom they voted for it in 2015.

“Let us Remind Ourselves About Jonathan’s Record. We Cannot Forget in a Hurry How His Regime, Devoid of Any Clear Economic Agenda, Engaged in FRIVOLOUS SPENDING, RAN THE ECONOMY AGROUND AND PUT THE COUNTRY IN DIRECH. Very Hard to overcoming, Actually Began Under President Jonathan.

“Jonathan and his national security councilor, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (RTD), has freely distributed security funds to friends and comparis.

“In 2010, President Jonathan inherited a total of $ 66 billion, of which $ 46 billion in foreign reserves and $ 20 billion in the noble excess but abused excess account. By 2015, when the people democratically removed it from a shock, the external reserves had not fallen the oil sales, the country had never had a saving of petrols obtained in plus 25 years combined.

“It is known that between 2010 and 2013, crude oil was sold for an average of $ 100 per barrel. By December 2014, however, the federal government led by Jonathan could no longer pay the salaries to federal public employees. At least 28 states throughout the country had to retain enormous wages.

“On the contrary, President Tinubu made daring decisions in the last 28 months to restore the economy, removing the ruinous subsidy for fuel and abolishing multiple exchange rates, which opened the road to the arbitration of thriving. The president stabilized the economy in a little 3.4%. Fund.

“In a simple language, the nation shot the corner. And our people started to collect the earnings of the bold reforms established by the Tinubu Administration. Road infrastructures are enhanced. The old roads are reconstructed while facing new ones, such as the Lagos-Calabar safety emissions and the Sokoto campaign, among others, among others, the other people are in some parts of a part of the campaign in a part of the campaign Lagos.

“We can go on indefinitely, eliminating the numerous macroeconomic gains of the Tinubu Administration. However, the point is that the co-Ro-Riaggianti of Jerry Gana broke the economy; the president Tinubu is adjusted it.

“President Jonathan and others are welcome to the 2027 race. They have already broken the economy, but millions of Nigerians who will not easily forget the recent past will not allow them to return to bring it down again.”
