Tinubu scheduled a two-day visit to Lagos to commission six major projects

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will visit Lagos on Wednesday and Thursday for a two-day working tour where he will inaugurate six major infrastructure projects being implemented by the state government.

The announcement was made by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, who disclosed the development in a statement on Monday.

Akosile, in a post on X, noted that the President’s visit would focus on implementing key projects described as transformative to the country’s development.

“Please join the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu to welcome President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on a two-day working visit to our beloved State. While here, the President will commission some of our iconic, transformative and legacy projects,” Akosile said.

The projects to be inaugurated include the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information Services building located in Alausa, the Lagos State Multi-Agency Complex, the Tolu School Complex in Ajegunle, the Maracana Stadium and the Lagos Food Logistics Center in Abijo.

Speaking on the development, Commissioner for Transport, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said the project was designed to address pressing infrastructure challenges across the state.

He explained that the Opebi–Mende–Ojota Connecting Bridge was built to reduce traffic congestion and create alternative routes for motorists in busy corridors such as Allen, Opebi, Maryland and Ojota.

Osiyemi further stated that the Lagos State Geographic Information Services building will enhance land administration through digital processes, while the Multi-Agency Complex is intended to house additional government parastatals within the state secretariat.

He added that the food logistics center in Abijo will strengthen agro-commerce through modern storage and trading systems, while the upgraded Tolu School Complex is now equipped with classrooms, ICT laboratories and better sports facilities.

According to him, the Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle has 19 mini football fields designed to encourage the development of grassroots sports.

The President’s visit is expected to highlight the ongoing infrastructure development and urban renewal initiatives of the Lagos State Government.
